"Meet David P. Proffitt"

Part 1: The Man
Hello, my name is David P. Proffitt, and welcome to my website. I am a man whose perspective has been shaped by a life of service, hands-on dedication, and a relentless pursuit of truth. As a veteran of the Army National Guard—where I trained at Fort Leonard Wood and served as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, also serving Active Duty at Ft. Bragg N.C.—and through my extensive career in Alabama law enforcement and corrections, I have learned the value of discipline and rigorous analysis. As a dedicated father and grandfather ("papaw"), I bring a grounded, real-world focus to everything I do. Though I am fairly new to the web-building field and am learning as I go, my passion is to create valuable content and openly share this journey with you, praying that I may help each visitor in some way.
THE MISSION
Part 2: The Study & The Calling
I am not a preacher, a judge, or someone seeking followers or financial gain. My ultimate goal is simple: to encourage others to follow Jesus Christ. Recognizing that the understanding of the Word is constantly deepening as hidden things are unveiled, I have taken on the vital task of challenging man-made religious misconceptions. I root my faith entirely in the whole Word of God—both the Old and New Testaments—studying the King James Version rigorously to prove or disprove established thoughts through careful, comparative analysis.
I ask only one thing of you: no matter your current beliefs on the end-times, just hear me out. Weigh my interpretations, see how they line up with scripture, and trace the timeline flowing to the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. If you ultimately believe I have erred in my perceptions, you are out nothing. But the time you spent considering these thoughts is time spent deep in the Word—and that is always a victory. Cling to the Word of God, let go of preconceptions, and compare everything to what scripture actually says.

My Core Beliefs
Creation and Humanity God created Adam and Eve, and all subsequent people derive from them. There is no such thing as race; all physical differences come from the complex DNA of the original two. At the Tower of Babel, God changed their languages, but scripture never mentions changing their skin color. Furthermore, no one goes to hell because of the color of their skin. God is not racist.
The Nature of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty, has many names. Jesus was God before His birth. In John, He is the WORD; the WORD was with God the Father, and the WORD was God made manifest in the flesh. It was Jesus who created all things and walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden.
When scripture states that men have seen the face of God, this is true. Jesus said Himself that no one has seen God the Father except He who descended from the Father. Therefore, when mankind spoke to God face-to-face, or wrestled with Him, they were interacting with Jesus. As He stated, "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father," because they are identical. Today, we know the Messiah paid our debt in sin, and He still bears the scarred flesh.
Salvation and Eternal Security Jesus Christ is the only way anyone can be redeemed. He is the only path to Heaven.
I believe in "Once Saved, Always Saved." I do not believe this simply because I was taught it, but because I took the question directly to God in prayer and deep study. In the book of James, there is a warning "lest ye lose salvation." At first glance, one might conclude this refers to Christians, as we are the ones who possess salvation. However, consider the mechanism of salvation: Jesus obtained the right for us to be saved through His sacrifice. Every person who died prior to that payment went to paradise, and none were without sin. They could not enter Heaven until Jesus paid the price to make us without blot, and until they accepted Him as Lord and Savior. That is why He descended into hell and paradise.
We all have the ability to obtain salvation. If we never act on it before we die, we lose salvation because it is no longer offered. Not one verse prior to James or after it explicitly alludes to a Christian losing their salvation. If losing salvation were possible, it would mean losing redemption entirely with no chance to repent. Wouldn't God provide clear scriptural examples of His own children losing salvation and going to hell? There is not one example in the whole Bible, though there are many of lost people going to hell. God chastises His children, and they receive the stripes they have coming, but they remain His.
The Timeline of the Earth I believe that the earth is approximately six thousand years old, and that we are currently in the middle of transitioning into the millennial reign of Christ.
What Truly Matters I believe people are more important than money or possessions.
AT THE ALTAR MEDIA

Part 3: The Publisher
At The Altar Media At The Altar is both a dedicated blog and a media production company. Through this platform, I will post links to videos I create and write detailed articles on topics pertaining to God's Word and biblical prophecy. I am taking on this important task because I am inspired by God when I read, pray, study, and research His Word. Today, I see all manner of things—from false prophets and false messiahs to errors in teaching and man-made doctrines—that bring further misunderstanding and complicate how people perceive His coming. To me, the approach is simple: take His Word exactly as it reads, accept it, and then dive deeper when required.
I believe it is impossible to understand what has happened, what is happening, or what is going to happen through teachings that ignore the context of the past. We read in the Bible that even some of the prophets and apostles didn't completely understand what was told to them or what they saw. Yet, Jesus Almighty told them not to worry, because in the future, we would know and understand. Jesus tells us many times in the New Testament to pray for knowledge and understanding, to watch, and to prepare for His coming.
I have been doing exactly this. By studying, researching, and connecting pieces of these great prophecies that other believers have uncovered, and aligning them with current events, I have put these elements together in a way that I believe has never been done before. This has nothing to do with me; it is entirely about Jesus revealing His Word and prophecies being fulfilled.
I believe my understanding comes only by the hand of God, but I am not here to promote myself. I ask only that you read my writings, compare them to His Word and to the events happening in the world today, and determine for yourselves whether what I share is of God or of man, truth or error, understanding or misunderstanding.
Join the Conversation
Throughout this site, I pick specific scripture topics and share my perspective. My intent is to spark real discussion—whether you want to point out where you think I am right, where you believe I am wrong, or simply leave your thoughts. I know that many will likely disagree with my interpretations, and that is perfectly fine. The goal is to get us all thinking and reading.
While I ask that everyone keeps the conversation respectful and refrains from cursing, I cannot police every single comment. Therefore, I advise parents to monitor younger readers for their own peace of mind. I am just one person, and I have other responsibilities, but I invite you to post responses, debate the Word, or just chat with others in the discussion threads.
